Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Ancient History. My name is Bambi Crivello, and I am thrilled to be your World History to 1500 teacher for this school year. In more than twenty years teaching, I’ve taught Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 6th grade Language Arts, 8th grade World History, 9th grade English and 12th grade English Literature. World History is by far my favorite subject.  I am in constant awe of the great responsibility before me to help your child grow and mature as a student, but at the same time, I am supremely confident that ALL of my students can learn and will prosper.

In Huntsville City Schools, the subject of Social Studies is broken into two separate courses: Prehistoric Times to 1500AD in 8th grade, and 1500AD to Modern Times in 9th grade. Our course this year, World History to 1500, is absolutely fascinating. Students will be examining the emergence of man and the development of the early civilizations whose contributions have shaped the world as we know it.  We will analyze key themes to the discipline of history: economy and trade, religion, social structure, government, impact/interaction with geography and historical contribution. Our studies will take us on a journey across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and South America.

I do check e-mail several times throughout the day, and that is probably the easiest and fastest means by which to contact me. If you would like to meet face to face, or if you have concerns regarding your child’s performance in multiple subject areas, please contact the guidance office to arrange a conference. I view collaboration between teacher, parent and student as an important aspect in the educational process, and I look forward to creating an effective partnership with you and your child. 

Students: You will discover very quickly that I am easy to get along with, and that I strive to have an efficient and entertaining class! I will be available to you if you have problems in any of your classes, and provide you with a safe and secure environment where you can achieve. While I cannot do your work for you, or provide you with the will to learn, I will do my best to be inspirational. I have high expectations for your behavior and your effort in my class. Above all else, I believe in your abilities and will root for your success both in my classroom and in life.

Bienvenido al maravilloso mundo de la Historia Antigua. Mi nombre es Bambi Crivello, y estoy encantada de ser su maestra de Historia Mundial para 1500 durante este año escolar. En más de veinte años enseñando, he enseñado preescolar, jardín de infantes, primer grado, tercer grado, sexto grado de artes del lenguaje, octavo grado de historia mundial, noveno grado de inglés y duodécimo grado de literatura inglesa. Historia mundial es, con mucho, mi asignatura favorita. Estoy en constante asombro por la gran responsabilidad que tengo ante mí de ayudar a su hijo a crecer y madurar como estudiante, pero al mismo tiempo, estoy sumamente seguro de que TODOS mis estudiantes pueden aprender y prosperar.

En las Escuelas de la Ciudad de Huntsville, la asignatura de Estudios Sociales se divide en dos cursos separados: Prehistoric Times hasta 1500AD en 8vo grado y 1500AD hasta Modern Times en 9no grado. Nuestro curso de este año, Historia mundial hasta el año 1500, es absolutamente fascinante. Los estudiantes examinarán el surgimiento del hombre y el desarrollo de las primeras civilizaciones cuyas contribuciones han dado forma al mundo tal como lo conocemos. Analizaremos temas clave para la disciplina de la historia: economía y comercio, religión, estructura social, gobierno, impacto / interacción con la geografía y contribución histórica. Nuestros estudios nos llevarán en un viaje por Oriente Medio, Asia, Europa y Sudamérica.

Estaré disponible para ti si tienes problemas en alguna de tus clases, y te brindaré un entorno seguro donde puedas lograrlo. Si bien no puedo hacer el trabajo por usted ni brindarle la voluntad de aprender, haré todo lo posible para inspirarme. Tengo grandes expectativas por su comportamiento y su esfuerzo en mi clase. Por encima de todo, creo en sus habilidades y apoyaré su éxito tanto en mi salón de clases como en la vida.

2. Under Parent Info on the upper right side of the page, and select Grades Online. 
3. Go to Parent Portal Information, and select Parent Portal.  
4. Use that link to access iNow.
