By the end of this unit, students should be able to analyze characteristics of  early civilizations in respect  to technology, division of  labor, government, calendar,  and writings. 

This unit opens students eyes to a world more like they one they are familiar with. We will explore early writing to include cave paintings, cuneiform, and hieroglyphics; analyze the development of government and law; as well as many other characteristics that make humans the most unique animal on the planet.
